Call goes out for Merton's poets

A free poetry competition, aimed at encouraging people to express themselves through verse, has opened.
United Press is calling on all poetry enthusiasts, to write a poem dedicated to their home town for the chance to snare a £1,000 prize.
Poems, no longer than 25 lines and no more than 160 words in each, can be sent to “Local Poems”, United Press Ltd, Admail 3735, London EC1B 1JB or through the website www.unitedpress.co.uk
